World Password Day takes on a unique meaning during the pandemic crisis we are in the midst of.
World Password Day has been around for seven years now and its importance remains as strong as ever. Weak passwords continue to be one of the largest vulnerabilities associated with most data breaches.
With so many people now working from home, the importance of a good password has never been more important. Hopefully your company has a robust password policy that does not allow you to use simple words or phrases, but complex passwords or passphrases that are not easily guessed.
As I have recommended in several previous posts, the use of a password manager is an excellent strategy to maintain unique and complex passwords that are not reused across any of your accounts. Many of these tools also include scans of the dark web to alert you if any of your passwords have been compromised and exposed.
Take some time this World Password Day to review your passwords and your password management practices to be sure you are as secure as possible.
