This week, I'm attending CompTIA's annual ChannelCon conference in Las Vegas. While it's hot as heck outside, 110 +, it's fortunately cool inside. And that's a good thing as the conference is spread across the large conference center at the Bellagio resort, so there will be lots of walking this week.
ChannelCon brings about 1,500 members of the global IT industry together for an annual thought and market leadership event. ChannelCon is the premier industry networking event of the year. From the smallest consulting and start-up firms to the largest household names in the business like Cisco and Microsoft and every business in between, there is no better place to connect with industry peers and make new connections.
Over my 20 year membership in CompTIA, I have had the pleasure of serving in several leadership capacities. Due to the resignation from the Board of Director's of our most recent Chair, I am continuing my service as the Immediate Past-Chair, supporting our new Board Chair, Gordon Pelosse from HPE.
While the event just kicked off this morning in earnest, I've already spent some quality time with friends and colleagues across the industry. I've sat in on the combined Advisory Council meetings this morning. These Advisory Councils are charting the course of the future for the industry and have exciting initiatives they are working on.
Joe Panettieri is maintaining a live blog from the event over at ChannelE2E. Check it out for the latest insights from the event. I will post a couple of times on what I'm seeing as the key messages at the event this week.
I'm looking forward to bringing some great ideas back with me that I can leverage to help my clients in the coming year. ChannelCon is always a wealth of great information and while this will be an exhausting week, it will also be very invigorating. More to follow...
