Exciting Announcement!

I'm thrilled to announce my latest engagement. I will be serving as the Executive Director of the newly formed non-profit TSP-ISAO, Technology Solution Provider - Information Sharing and Analysis Organization.

This important initiative is made possible thanks to the generous funding and sharing of expertise from our Founding Members. Our initial Founding Members include the Bellini Foundation, supported by ConnectWise Founder and former CEO Arnie Bellini and his wife Lauren, CompTIA, ConnectWise, Perch Security and the University of South Florida (USF). More Founding Members will be announced in the coming weeks and months.

Accepting the first funding check for the TSP-ISAO from Arnie Bellini of the Bellini Foundation onstage at ConnectWise IT Nation Connect October 30, 2019. Professor Sagar Samtani of USF (L), Arnie and I with the ceremonial check and Jason Magee, ConnectWise CEO (R).

It's important to note that the TSP-ISAO is not a ConnectWise entity. It is truly a stand-alone non-profit, designed to serve the entire TSP industry. Thanks is certainly due to ConnectWise for providing the logistical support to stand up the TSP-ISAO and for providing the launch platform at their IT Nation Connect event last week. This has been a passion of Arnie's for quite some time and now that he is no longer running ConnectWise, he and his wife Lauren are able to pursue their philanthropic activities through their Foundation. We are so grateful to their Foundation for their grant, their energy and passion for this cause and their leadership expertise. It's only natural, given Arnie's connection to ConnectWise and the initial assistance that ConnectWise is providing for there to be some questions about the independence of the TSP-ISAO. Some of the media linked below, wrote about the TSP-ISAO as a ConnectWise undertaking. That's why it's important to drive the message clearly across the industry that this is your TSP-ISAO. We want everyone to participate, both with the sharing of threat intelligence as well as consuming and acting on it. This is how an ISAO works. Together we are stronger and able to fight back against the bad actors impacting our economies.

The mission of the TSP-ISAO is to advance the cybersecurity resilience of the global TSP industry. TSP is an all encompassing acronym for MSPs (Managed Services Providers), CSPs (Cloud Services Providers), MSSPs (Managed Security Services Providers) and TSPs (Technology Solution Providers), all vital contributors to our global economy. The TSP-ISAO will share actionable threat intelligence with our members to keep them and their clients as secure as possible in the face of ever increasing cyber attacks.

I am truly humbled and grateful to have been selected for this important role. If you follow this blog, you know my passion for cybersecurity and this industry. We are facing evolving and existential threats and we find ourselves, as an industry, at a clear inflection point. I am looking forward to working with our members and industry partners to make this initiative the success it must be.
