Right on the heels of today being the day that Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 go end of life, the National Cyber Awareness System has released a critical update alert.
This alert stems from a discovery made by the National Security Agency and shared by the NSA's Cybersecurity Directorate with Microsoft so that the company could patch the critical flaw as quickly as possible. In response, Microsoft issued patches today, January 14 for Windows 10 operating systems. More information is available in a Washington Post article published earlier this afternoon.
Be sure you patch your systems immediately. If you work with an outsourced IT partner, ask them if they are releasing an emergency out of band update to your systems today. They should be.
